Celebrating Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is celebrated around the world on the 22nd of April to show support for environmental protection. This makes it the perfect time to stop by the farm and chat with us about our sustainable practices. While you’re here, you can check out the progress of our beautiful flower rows and pick up some veggies and herbs from the farm stand for a delicious springtime feast. As a reminder, pets are welcome on the farm but must be kept on a leash at all times. And, we ask that you stick to the mulched walkways in order to keep our crop rows tidy and healthy. We can’t wait to see you!

Zucchini and yellow crookneck squash are officially back in season at the farm stand! Zucchini is such a versatile veggie in the kitchen since it can be enjoyed raw or cooked in both sweet and savory dishes. Farmer Caitlin loves to grill zucchini and season it with a dash of Cajun spice mix. As for Farmer Alex, she loves using the first zucchini of the season to make a galette. If you’d like to make your own zucchini galette, try this recipe.

Aside from zucchini, we have a beautiful array of springtime vegetables and herbs at the farm stand. From root veggies like carrots and beets to fennel with its wispy anise-flavored fronds to sweet and tender leeks, there’s a multitude of flavors and textures waiting for you. And don’t forget the flowers! Our cut-flower bouquets are currently available only during our Saturday farm stand from 9am-noon. If you can’t make those hours and don’t mind missing out on the flower bouquets, you can always pop by and use our self-serve option instead.

In Season at the Farm Stand: Zucchini, Rainbow Carrots, Leeks, Scallions, Fennel, Kohlrabi, Beets, Romaine Lettuce, Swiss Chard, Kale, Collard Greens, Basil, Cilantro, and Dill
