A Pop-Up Market for Mother’s Day

Happy May! In honor of Mother’s Day this weekend, we’ll have a small pop-up market with local vendors alongside our farm stand on Saturday. In addition to our farm-fresh veggies and herbs, we’ll have cut-flower bouquets for you made with sunflowers, zinnias, and purple basil. These lovely bouquets are perfect for mom or anyone that wants to bring home a bit of farm beauty. The farm stand and pop-up market will be held this Saturday, May 7th, from 9am-noon and is open to anyone that would like to attend. We can’t wait to see you!

We’ll have the first of our slicing tomato varieties available for you at the farm stand this week! We’re harvesting both Berkeley Tie-Dye (Farmer Alex’s favorite!) and Black Krim Tomatoes. These varieties are meaty and juicy and are perfect for slicing and adding to sandwiches, salads, and burgers. Farmer Alex recommends layering thick slices of tomato with mozzarella and fresh basil leaves for a classic caprese salad. Or, you can whip up any iteration of the BLT that you like: bacon/lettuce/tomato, bacon/cucumber/tomato, tofu/tomato/avocado…you get the idea!

Did you know that you can volunteer with us at the farm? This week Jordan Ranch community members Tito and Josh came out to help us with harvesting and seeding in the greenhouse. Tito (left) volunteers because he wants to learn more about growing organically while Josh (right) wants to become more involved with the community by helping out at the farm. Tito’s favorite veggies are kale, scallions, and tomatoes while Josh loves hot peppers, especially poblanos. If you’d like to volunteer, send an email to Farmer Alex at alex@agmenity.com!
