Also known as “pea shoots”, pea tendrils are the young shoots of a flowering pea plant that are harvested before the pea pod forms.
Storage tips
Wrap pea tendrils in paper towels and store in a plastic bag in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Culinary tips
- Pea tendrils can be prepared raw or very lightly cooked.
- Use raw pea tendrils in salads or as a garnish for soups or tacos.
- Pea tendrils pair well with eggs, ricotta, asparagus, carrots, fava beans, basil, and mint.
- Try making a pea tendril pesto with pistachios and mint.
