Description

Elongated tuber that grows beneath the surface of the soil. This tuber is a great source of beta carotene and has a sweet tender flesh when cooked. Known for it’s seasonal flair, it’s common use is for sweet potato pie.


Storage tips

Store at room temp. This tuber is a storage crop and can keep up to 6 months. If you begin to notice sprouts, go ahead and cook.

  • Slice thin for a egg casserole.
  • Substitute for potato in a bread recipe.
  • Add puree into a biscuit or pancake recipe.
  • A great replacement for potato hash.
  • Turn cooked leftovers into a simple soup, either as chunks or blended.
