Despite what the name implies, most varieties of wax beans have neither a waxy texture or appearance. It is believed that the name originates from their color as it is similar to beeswax.

Description

Wax beans are a member of the legume family and are similiar to green beans but have a pale yellow color and a milder flavor. Some varieties can be flatter in shape while the majority are round like a standard green bean.
